Chevron Corporation is an American oil company incorporated in 1911 in California, after the dissolution of the Standard Oil trust, under the name Standard Oil of California. Over a period of more than forty years, John D. Rockefeller led Standard Oil to be the largest company in the world for a long time.
It has important oil and natural gas fields, oil refineries and oil tankers. Due to its sales volume (27,342 million dollars), in 1983 it ranked eleventh among the largest industrial companies in the market economy world.
